MA1 - 997.2, 987.2 & 981
Remote ECU tuning for the MA1 — Porsche's first direct-injection flat-six, covering the 997.2 Carrera and Targa, the 987.2 Boxster and Cayman, the 981, and the 997.2 Turbo.
Direct injection gave Porsche far finer control over fuelling and timing, which means there is more for a calibrator to work with than on the M96 and M97 engines that came before. The 997.2 Turbo's MA1.70 is the standout of this family.
The MA1 also resolved the IMS bearing issue that haunted the earlier engines, which makes these cars a safer platform to modify.
