aFe Power Magnum FLOW OE Replacement Air Filter with Pro 5R Media is a direct drop-in panel filter for the turbocharged 3.6-litre 996. It sits in the factory airbox exactly as the paper element did and outflows it, which matters more on a forced-induction car than on almost anything else in the range.
This is the oiled filter. Pro 5R uses five layers of progressively finer mesh cotton gauze, factory-oiled — the highest-flowing drop-in media aFe makes. It is washable and reusable, but it has to be cleaned and re-oiled at service intervals with aFe's Pro 5R restore kit. Go easy on the oil: an over-oiled element can contaminate a mass airflow sensor, which is a well-documented failure mode and an expensive one on this car.

Note: Part number 30-10068 is supplied as a single filter. Clean and re-oil at regular service intervals using aFe's Pro 5R restore kit — oiled-filter cleaner plus blue filter oil.
