aFe Power Magnum FLOW OE Replacement Air Filter with Pro 5R Media lets your naturally aspirated 996 or 997 Carrera breathe properly. It is a drop-in replacement for the factory paper element, fits the stock airbox without modification, and aFe measures it outflowing the OE filter by 10% — worth more power and a noticeably sharper throttle. Budget about thirty minutes.

This is the oiled filter. Pro 5R uses five layers of progressively finer mesh cotton gauze, factory-oiled — the highest-flowing drop-in media aFe makes, and the one to pick if the car sees track days. It is washable and reusable, but it must be cleaned and re-oiled at service intervals with aFe's Pro 5R restore kit. Be sparing: an over-oiled element can contaminate a mass airflow sensor. If you would rather never think about oil, the identical filter is available in dry synthetic media as Pro DRY S, part number 31-10069.

Note: Part number 30-10069 is supplied as a single filter and fits non-turbo cars only. Clean and re-oil at regular service intervals using aFe's Pro 5R restore kit — oiled-filter cleaner plus blue filter oil. Do not over-oil: excess oil can foul the mass airflow sensor. aFe states this product does not require a CARB EO number.
