aFe Power Magnum FLOW OE Replacement Air Filter with Pro DRY S Media lets your naturally aspirated 996 or 997 Carrera breathe properly without introducing filter oil anywhere near the intake tract. It is a drop-in replacement for the factory paper element, fits the stock airbox without modification, and installs in about thirty minutes.

This is the dry filter. Pro DRY S uses three layers of progressive oil-free synthetic media. It gives up a little peak airflow to the oiled Pro 5R and hands back a filter you wash, dry and refit — nothing to over-apply, and nothing that can migrate onto a mass airflow sensor. For a street-driven 996 or 997 that is usually the better trade. If you want maximum airflow and don't mind the maintenance, the same filter in oiled cotton gauze is part number 30-10069.
