The Bilstein B8 Performance Plus front strut cartridge, part number 34-050507, is the front damper for an air-cooled Porsche that has already been lowered. A monotube gas-pressure insert with a shortened body, valved to control a lowered chassis properly.
For lowered or sport suspension only. B8 Performance Plus is built specifically to pair with aftermarket lowering springs or factory sport suspension. The shortened body is what makes that work — and it is also why this is the wrong part for a stock-height car. On factory springs a B8 runs out of travel, rides harshly and wears out early. If your car sits at factory ride height, buy the B6 Performance front cartridge instead.
