BMC FB473/04 Replacement Air Filter is the drop-in panel for the 997 Turbo and the hardest 997 GT cars — GT2, GT2 RS and the 997.2 GT3 RS. It fits the factory airbox with no cutting and no adapters.

BMC is the oiled-cotton option, made in Italy. Multi-layered cotton gauze soaked in low-viscosity oil, wrapped in an epoxy-coated alloy mesh that resists petrol fumes and humidity. BMC rates the media at 7 microns against roughly 10 for OEM paper — on a 480 to 620 horsepower turbo engine, more airflow without giving up filtration is the whole point. Supplied pre-oiled and regenerated with a BMC cleaning kit. Apply oil sparingly at service time.

Note: BMC lists FB473/04 without a multi-filter annotation — it is supplied as a single filter. The 997.2 GT3 (non-RS) takes a different BMC part number. Clean and re-oil at service intervals with a BMC regeneration kit; use BMC filter oil only and apply it sparingly.
