BMC FB926/20 Replacement Air Filter is the drop-in panel for the turbocharged flat-four 718. It fits the standard airbox on the 2.0 and 2.5 Boxster and Cayman with no modification.
Note on the 718 range: the 982 Boxster and Cayman split into two engines. The base, T, S and GTS cars listed below use the turbocharged flat-four, and this is their filter. The 4.0-litre flat-six GT4, Spyder and Boxster GTS take a different BMC part number.
BMC is the oiled-cotton option, made in Italy. Multi-layered cotton gauze soaked in low-viscosity oil, wrapped in an epoxy-coated alloy mesh that resists petrol fumes and humidity. BMC rates the media at 7 microns against roughly 10 for OEM paper. Supplied pre-oiled and regenerated with a BMC cleaning kit. Apply oil sparingly at service time; over-oiling is how filter oil reaches a mass airflow sensor.
